Attention Seeker!

Looking to make a bit of statement on your walls? Much depends on who you are. A great starting point in selecting a statement wallpaper is our Graduate Collection as, by their very nature, debut collections aim to be noticed!

This fantastic Bear wallpaper took Norwich graduate, Lisa Bliss, over three months to draw (well, it is over 6 feet tall!). It is part of her ‘Outside In’ collection and reflect’s Lisa’s own interest in animals.

Using Colour

Of course a statement wallpaper should reflect your individual tastes and complement your existing interiors. Fortunately, at Monument Interiors you can browse our collection by colour as well as by style.

A simple way to use statement wallpaper within an existing setting is to pick out a colour that is already in your existing design scheme, in an understated way (for example example a rug or vase or picture frame).

This Destiny design is a bold choice and was inspired by the stunning hues of red and pink of a girls dress in the Pre-Raphelite painting ‘Destiny’ by John William Waterhouse. The painting was given to the Artists War Fund, in support of British casualties of the Boer War and shows the girl drinking a toast to the departing warriors, whose ships can be seen in a mirror in the background.  Destiny combines a sophisticated colour palette to create a versatile multi coloured wallpaper which lends itself to a variety of contemporary settings.

Let the design shine…

Of course, statement wallpaper does not necessarily have to be particularly colourful or bold – why not let the boldness come from a striking design like Petal Pusher, by Los Angeles based designer Joy D. Cho. Joy got her inspiration for this versatile statement wallpaper from floral woodcuts and the result is both bold and glamorous with just a hint of sparkle. It is available in seven colour ways, theres a colour way suitable for every room in the house – go on, make your room bloom!

Mineheart design is known for their inimitable playful trompe l’oeil style and this Wrought Metal Gate statement wallpaper is no exception.

It gives the look of exquisitely ornate metal panels on the wall. I t can be used to create a mysterious yet sophisticated feeling and is strangely reminiscent of Moroccan screens, boudoirs and metal garden gates! Perfect for statement walls or a whole room.
