Yellow Interior Design Ideas
24 Apr 2013
We are very pleased to announce Jake is back and this time he is cheering in Spring with his choice of yellow interior design ideas…
Being as it is the start of a well overdue Spring, my personal recommendation for colour at the moment is a nice bright yellow. When accompanied with a dark timber floor or a charcoal wall finish, it stands out and brightens up the dullest of spaces.
Colour is a difficult thing to apply well. HAving the vision, skill and knowledge of how and importantly where to use bold colour is frankly a superhero power. When used well it can really define an interior, be a focal point and be that missing part of a puzzle that space needed. However when used without thought or tact the result can be disastrous.
As the images above show, it can compliment blues and greys and looks brilliant next to a concrete wall or floor finish. My top tip is using the Argyle Wallpaper in a charcoal silver finish by Erica Wakerly (you can purchase a roll by clicking here!) coupled with a yellow upholstered sofa like the Facet sofa by the Bourellec Brothers for Lignet Roset. A complimentary yellow pendant light will finish off the look perfectly as the montage below shows.
Its warming up, the sunglasses are out and all rusty bbq’s across the UK are salivating at the thought of them being released from their long winter. So revel in the spirit and get yourself something yellow this season for the perfect addition to your home and if you like yellow that much have a look at the Paper Plane Design blog by clicking here, it is always guaranteed to brighten up your life!
